HI! Welcome to The Stereo! I’m Sophia. I want to start off this blog by giving you a little taste of the music that I enjoy. Here’s a list of songs that I’ve been listening to on repeat all month!
Sex – The 1975
With the anticipation of the new The 1975 album coming in October, I’ve spent all summer and now this fall season dusting off their discography. This is definitely a top 5 The 1975 song for me.
Sneakers – Knox
I fell in love with this song when I heard it on TikTok, and now I listen to it almost every day to fulfill my dream of being in a hot rock band [ ;) ].
Suck My Kiss – Red Hot Chili Peppers
After watching the “Trainwreck: Woodstock ‘99” docu-series on Netflix, I was inspired to make a playlist of 90s punk/rock/nu metal songs, and this song is one of my favorites on the playlist (I’ve linked the playlist below if you feel so inclined to listen to it*).
How to disappear – Lana Del Rey
This fall season is giving me major Lana Del Rey vibes, and I’ve had Norman Fucking Rockwell on repeat for the past month. Amazing album, amazing artist.
Northern Attitude – Noah Kahan
Since I’ve been at school in Nashville, I’ve been thinking a lot about fall at home in New England. This song makes me feel like I’m in Vermont, which is one of my comfort spots. The emotion in this song is incredible. 10/10.
Snap Out Of It – Arctic Monkeys
I’ve been getting more into this kind of indie rock type of music recently, and the almost 10 year album, AM, by Arctic Monkeys is incredible. I just love the dark tones and heavy bass that this album represents.
Hate Me – Miley Cyrus
During my drive from Massachusetts to Tennessee last month, I listened to a lot of Joan Jett, which led me to listening to the entire Plastic Hearts album by Miley Cyrus. The album is insane, and women in rock are so powerful.
Sextape – Deftones
I started listening to Deftones this past summer, and this song just really stuck out to me. The vocals are beautiful.
Half Life – Djo
Djo’s new album DECIDE was just released this month, and this was one of my favorite songs on the album. The different styles of this album prove how talented Joe Keery is.
Helmet – Steve Lacy
GEMINI RIGHTS! Phenomenal album, and you can tell how much work Lacy put into this project. 10/10 recommend this entire album.
* Here’s the link to my “can’t stop a riot in the fuckin 90s” playlist, inspired by Woodstock ‘99. Make sure to check out the rest of my Spotify to see what kind of music I love, and where this blog will go.
Also, here’s a link to my on repeat playlist, which includes these songs, and those of similar taste.
Thank you for reading! I’m super excited to start this journey with all of you, and I hope that you are too. I’m planning on posting little blogs every other Monday for now, but that’s subject to change.
LOVE YOU ALL SEE YOU NEXT TIME XOXO
